Herbert M. Sanborn

"Herbert Sanborn was born and raised in Portland, Maine, and attended NYU and the Sorbonne in Paris. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. After the war, he joined the UN Secretariat where he had a varied career. He was a graphic designer and production man in the Publishing Service, working both at UN Headquarters in New York and at its European office in Geneva. He also served as secretary of the Publications Board and later administered technical assistance for French-speaking African countries. He also had political assignments in Belgian colonies and in the Congo, now Zaire. (..) Since his retirement, he has maintained his association with the UN, and is secretary of the Assn. of Former International Civil Servants (..) "
